FROM DREAM TO STAGE
The Beginning
In the autumn of 2018, a troupe of Lithuanian amateur actors was born, bringing together not only Lithuanians from Oslo but also theatre enthusiasts from Drammen and Fredrikstad. This creative community became a member of Viken Teaterråd, an organization that supports amateur theatre both creatively and organizationally.
The founders of the theatre – Roberta Abramovičiūtė and Aušra Lapėnaitė – had long dreamed of the stage. One dreamed of directing, the other of acting. Their paths crossed on October 9, 2018, over steaming cups of ginger tea, where they spoke their dreams out loud. That moment sparked the idea of creating an amateur performance, which became the first step in the story of this troupe.
From the Director’s Perspective
Roberta Abramovičiūtė is the co-founder and director of the theatre troupe, leading it on a creative journey since its very first days. Artistic vision and the day-to-day responsibilities of theatre management and decision-making are part of her daily life.
Her directing is infused with sensitivity, courage, and a deep belief in the human inner world. Roberta has a rare ability to gently hear the inner voice of each actor, unlock their creativity, and help them find their unique place on stage.
Her work spans both emotionally rich, psychologically nuanced productions for adults and vibrant, playful, and uplifting performances for children. Roberta believes that theatre should speak to everyone – from the very youngest to grown-ups – and at every age, it has the power to spark inspiration, provoke thought, or simply bring a smile.
For her, directing is more than a profession – it’s a way of life. It’s a creative space where challenges, teamwork, improvisation, and deep responsibility intertwine. Despite the difficulties, Roberta creates with passion and love – each performance becomes a living story in which we can recognize a part of ourselves.

We choose theatre because here we can be ourselves – and become whoever we want to be. Each of us finds our place – on stage, behind the scenes, or shaping the atmosphere. It is a space where our creativity, courage, and friendships grow. Here, we don’t just act – we live through theatre.
